Katerini (Greek: Κατερίνη, former name: Αικατερίνη - Aikaterini; "Catherine") is a town in Central Macedonia, Greece, the capital of Pieria regional unit. It lies on the Pierian plain, between Mt. Olympus and the Thermaikos Gulf, at an altitude of 14 m. The town, which is one of the newest in Greece, has a population of 85,851 (according to the 2001 census). It is near the city of Thessaloniki, Greece's second largest city, which has been beneficial for Katerini's development over recent years. Katerini is accessible from the main Thessaloniki–Athens highway GR-1/E75 (with two interchanges near the town) and the Egnatia Odos to the north. It is served by both Intercity and local trains on the main railway line from Athens to Thessaloniki and there is a comprehensive regional and national bus service with its hub in the town.

A popular tourist destination, Katerini is close to the sea (6 km) and to several archaeological sites of great interest such as the ancient city of Dion (5th century BC, 17 km away) and the Venetian Castle of Platamon. The beaches of Korinos, Paralia and Olympiaki Akti (or Katerinoskala) are visited by both Greek and international tourists during the summer. The base of Mount Olympus and the town of Litochoro, are at a distance of around 20 kilometres from the centre of Katerini.

    Παρασκευή 1 Σεπτεμβρίου 2017 Σήμερα περίπου 15:45, η πωλήτρια Νατάσα, του καταστήματος Κατσαρός Σβορώνου με Μεγάλου Αλεξάνδρου γωνία, Κατερίνη, Νατάσα, 15:45 ξανά και πάλι επανέλαβε αυτό που είναι και δεν αλλάζει στο χαρακτήρα της, την φλυαρία, άσκοπη φλυαρία, καθυστέρηση μη δικαιολογημένη, αποχή από τα καθήκοντα, και την παράδοση της σειράς σε άλλο πελάτη που ήρθε αρκετά μετά και διέθετε άριστη υγεία και φυσιολογία –δεν ανήκει σε ουδεμία κατηγορία προτεραιότητας. Η ασυνειδησία της είναι θρασύτατη και η έλλειψη παντελώς επαγγελματισμού. Και από άλλους ανθρώπους μου έχουνε πει κατ ιδίαν την κατάσταση αυτής της πωλήτριας, και την ευθύνη του καταστήματος που διώχνει πελάτες, δεν ξέρω καμία άλλη πωλήτρια να είναι έτσι στα καταστήματα Κατσαρός που σέβονται το πελάτη, δεν κουτσομπολεύουνε, δεν φλυαρούνε, δεν αναλώνονται σε άσκοπες κινήσεις, δεν συζητάνε για ψυχαγωγία, δεν δίνουνε την σειρά αλλού, είναι σοβαρές. Κορόιδο πρέπει να είσαι για να έχεις ένα τέτοιο άτομο που είναι και πολύ μεγάλο στη ηλικία και αργόστροφο αν όχι ανόητο. Και θα συνεχίσετε να τις δίνετε μισθό και να διώχνει το κόσμο, αυτό το έχει κάνει και στο παρελθόν το ίδιο, και το κάνει από τότε που την έχετε προσλάβει, και το ανέχτηκα, το έχει κάνει παλαιότερα και σε μένα, αλλά και ήμουνα μάρτυρας να το κάνει και σε άλλους πελάτες, που δεν τους είδα να ξανάρθανε εκεί πέρα.
